Strives to improve manufacturing efficiency and profitability by reducing scrap.Drives the continuous improvement of processes, production yield and reliabilityacross the organization reporting results to executive management regularly.Ensures that all products and processes meet specification and addresses non conformances promptly and systematically.Ensures that quality procedures and policies are coordinated throughout the organization.  Participates in reviewing engineering designs, changes and improvement to assure quality requirements are met.Interfaces with customers as needed.



Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules & goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization/s.


Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods & techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate/s to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops & administrators schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.


Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.


Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.


Manages the coordination of the activities of a department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.




  • Develops, implements and manages the Quality Management System.
  • Confers with management, customers, and others to plan, schedule, and coordinate a quality assurance program in conformance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and production schedules.
  • Develops specific objectives for product quality and yieldimprovement that support company goals; drives cross functional teams towards these goals and communicates progress to all employees on a quarterly basis.
  • Drives continuous improvement of manufacturing and business processes across the organization to meet strategic company objectives.
  • Administers a continuing program of review and analysis to audit the "effectiveness" of the quality system and implements improvements.
  • Reviews customer complaints and conducts research on product defects to initiate modifications in products or quality standards where warranted. Visits customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems.     
  • Educates others on the use of effective statistical process control and continuous improvement techniques like LEAN and encourages the use of these tools to address product, process, and quality system issues.
  • Assures successful annual ISO9001 registration.
  • Performs root cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements. Uses data analysis tools like JMP to identify trends and statistical variance.
  • Manages quality assurance personnel
  • Balances yield role and quality role
  • Performs other activities as assigned.

  • Typical candidate for this position would possess5-10 years of previous production / quality management, in addition to at least 5 years of quality engineering in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Candidate should possess at minimum Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and lead an effective quality organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve manufacturing yield of new and mature products
  • Demonstrated program management ability with a proven track record of success
  • Deep understanding of LEAN and Six Sigma methodsas well as the ISO standard. Strong data analysis skills including JMP, Minitab, and Excel. SQL query skills preferred.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring continuous improvement programs across diverse organizations. Proven capability in implementing a quality system
  • Quality auditing experience. Previous product quality, quality assurance, and reliability experience.
  • Experience in application of quality tools such as SPC, FMEA and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization
  • Developed and introduced product structuring techniques (SAP, Arena) from customer performance and materials specs, to supplier technical data sheets.
  • Experience with phases and gates in product development
